Get ready to sink your teeth into NBC's darkest drama.

America's original vampire is back and he's looking hotter than ever.  The new fall series Dracula will emerge from its coffin for the first time tonight and we know that all you vampire-lovers definitely don't want to miss this fresh twist on a classic tale.

From the producers of Downton Abbey and the director of The Tudors, Dracula is jam-packed with action, drama, love, intrigue, and of course blood. We caught up with star Johnathan Rhys Meyers to get all the gory details on what fans can expect when they tune in tonight to the lavish period drama.

Hell-bent on destroying his enemies once and for all, Dracula arrives in Victorian London posing as mysterious American entrepreneur Alexander Grayson. Rhys Meyers explains that there are actually three characters that we need to know in this lush new world.

"We changed some of the characters around, changed the nature of their position in the world around," he says. "[Dracula] plays Alexander Grayson a young European American businessman. Dracula doesn't exist, Dracula is the monster. Vlad Tepes and Alexandar Grayson exist. Vlad Tepes is the core character and Alexander Grayson is the façade he used for the world of commerce." Phew! Did you get all that?

Rhys Meyers reveals that the drama will be embracing a number of universal theme including revenge, pain, love and loss. Take a look at our full interview with the star above to find more about the "brutality and beauty" hidden within Dracula.

Don't miss the series premiere of Dracula, tonight at 10 p.m. on NBC!

(E! and NBC are both part of the NBCUniversal family.)
