Does Anyone Have Real Dirt on Tom or Oprah?

New tell-alls on powerhouse—and much gossiped about—stars keep the rumors flourishing, good thing or bad?

Two explosive books are hitting two pretty big targets, Tom Cruise and Oprah Winfrey, but are these books creating more questions than answers?

Kitty Kelley, Oprah's publishing nemesis, dodges the outing card on Oprah's sexuality (one of the book's most controversial themes) by ultimately claiming her subject is "asexual."

Uh, nice legal slide there, Kelley—though she allows her myriad sources and pages plenty of innuendo nonetheless.

As for Cruise's most whispered about doings?

It's his religion. At least, according to Amy Scobee, author of Scientology: Abuse at the Top.

Scobee was herself a high-ranking staff member within the Church of Scientology at one time. She claims to have overseen the recruitment of celebrities such as Kirstie Alley and John Travolta, Cruise's Scientology buddies.

Scobee's book has Cruise's lawyer in a tizzy, causing him to send a letter to the author claiming that everything Scobee wrote about Cruise is false.

Among other things, Scobee writes that Cruise has admitted use of illegal drugs. She also claims that Cruise was given an ultimatum by the Church to choose between his marriage to Nicole Kidman and Scientology...Two things we'd never want to have to choose between!

Cruise's lawyer has denied these claims and others in a letter he sent to Scobee, stating that Cruise "has never used illegal drugs of any kind" and that "Scientology had nothing to do with Mr. Cruise's divorce from Ms. Kidman."

Also looming is what the hell will Cruise fire off once this brave bitch actually publishes her book? Sheesh, hate to think. But even more of a question is what the hell is Oprah going to do—legally, at least—with everything Kelley's come out with, as it were?

Now, usually, Kelley knows her stuff, I have to admit. But then, why would she say Oprah's gone all asexual and stuff?

I assure you she hasn't.
