Ryan O'Neal, Son Arrested in Meth Bust

UPDATE: Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department spokesman Steve Whitmore confirms to E! News that Ryan and Redmond O'Neal "have bonded out," getting released from police custody after posting $10,000 apiece.
Both men are due to appear in court on Nov. 13.

Like father, like son...like daughter?
Ryan O'Neal and 23-year-old son Redmond added yet another page to the family's rap sheet, getting busted on suspicion of narcotics possession at the the elder's Malibu home this morning—just three months after Tatum O'Neal's New York crack bust.
Los Angeles Sheriff's deputies arrested the father-son duo at 8:02 a.m. following what was supposed to be a "routine" probation search stemming from Redmond's drug bust earlier this year, Whitmore told E! News.
Deputies found the younger O'Neal in possession of what appeared to be methamphetamine, while a vial of the drug was also found in Ryan's bedroom. The substance still needs to be tested, Whitmore says.
Both were subsequently taken to the Lost Hills Station in Malibu and each was booked around 9 a.m. on a felony possession charge.
Whitmore tells E! News that neither man appeared to be under the influence at the time of their arrest. The 67-year-old Love Story thesp and his son are currently being held at the station on $10,000 bail.
Redmond, whose mother is Farrah Fawcett, pleaded guilty in June to two felony counts of possession of heroin and methamphetamine and one misdemeanor count of driving under the influence stemming from an arrest on Jan. 26 of this year. He was sentenced to three years' probation and could face serious prison time if found to be in violation.
Redmond also has the distinction of having been at the center of a headline-grabbing domestic dispute at his dad's place last year. Ryan claimed he was trying to protect Redmond from half-brother Griffin by firing a warning shot after Griffin lunged at Redmond with a fireplace poker. Ryan was arrested but not charged in the incident.
As for Tatum O'Neal, she copped a plea to a misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct stemming from her June arrest. She was sentenced to two half-day sessions in drug treatment and fined $95. If she complies, the case will be dismissed.
