Lynne Spears Denies Sending Gift to Palin's Daughter

Lynne Spears may be able to relate to having a kid be with child, but that doesn't mean she's gettin' all crazy and sending onesies to every pregnant teen out there, either. Even if mom is running for V.P.

Apparently, the reports that surfaced Wednesday claiming the Spears matriarch had ordered a present to be sent to Sarah Palin's 17-year-old mother-to-be daughter, Bristol, on behalf of Jamie Lynn are completely untrue.

"I just got off the phone with Lynne. I can tell you that she hasn't sent her any gifts, but that she does support Sarah and, of course, can empathize with their situation," Curt Handling, Spears' publicist at the Thomas Nelson publishing company, tells E! News.

No word, however, if this will cause Britney and Jamie Lynn to now be taken off the list of potential baby names.
