Foodie Fight! Martha Disses Rachael, Says Dueling Domestic Diva Is "Not Good Enough"

If you can't take the heat, get out of Martha Stewart's kitchen. That means you, Rachael Ray.

While it was just a week ago that the dueling domestic divas made nice by making their first joint appearances on their respective daytime chatfests, apparently a few days are all Stewart needed to make up her mind about Ray's culinary prowess. Or lack thereof.

In an interview set to air tonight on Nightline, the high priestess of homemaking shuts down any would-be comparisons with her long-rumored younger rival.

"Well, to me, she professed that she could—cannot bake," the ice queen begins. "She just did a new cookbook, which is just a reedit of a lot of her old recipes. And that's not good enough for me.

"Rachael is different," Stewart goes on. "She is more of an entertainer…with her bubbly personality, than she is teacher, like me. That's not what she's professing to be."

And lest there be any confusion, that's not a good thing.

Of course, to be fair to Martha, her thoughts on Ray didn't stream out unprovoked—there is substantial baiting from interviewer Cynthia McFadden, who knows from leading questions.

"You just came back from the Rachael Ray Show, I mean, she drops things on the floor and throws them in the batter and that just is not Martha Stewart," McFadden sneers.

When McFadden presses Stewart on whether Ray is misleading audiences about her skill set, professing to be the woman to help you get through any meal, Stewart even stands up for the TV chef. Sort of.

"She can, but she does it very differently than I do. She's a totally different kind of cook than I am. I don't know if she has a garden, I don't think so. But if she does, she doesn't show that on her show so much."

Ray, meanwhile, is refraining from any retaliatory criticisms.

"Why would it make me mad?" Ray says of Stewart's comments. "Her skill set is far beyond mine. That's simply the reality of it. That doesn't mean that what I do isn't important, too.

"I really just think she's being honest. She does have a better skill set than I do when it comes to producing a beautiful, perfect, high-quality meal. I'd rather eat Martha's than mine, too."

That's Stewart-1, Ray-0.
