Lohan Burglary Suspect Blames Bad "Friends"

Last week, police broke up what was described as a burglary ring targeting Hollywood stars, including Lindsay Lohan.

Today, one of those suspects—whose involvement in an E! reality project has potentially been jeopardized by her arrest—is blaming a poor choice in friends as the reason she's on the wrong end of the law.

"This is a difficult time for my family and myself and I can't wait for all of this to be cleared up," Alexis Neiers exclusively tells E! News. "I've learned my lesson that I need to make some better friends and some better decisions as far as my friends go."

The 18-year-old made the remarks after touching base Monday with her lawyer, Jeffery Rubenstein. She is facing a felony burglary charge and is free on $50,000 bond.

The attorney says that Neiers was simply "in the wrong place at the wrong time."

He also says she is cooperating with police.

"Because of the pending investigation I've advised her not to make any comments at this time," Rubenstein says.

"She'll be able to talk about this when this is all over. We look forward to it being cleared up very soon. Alexis intends to be fully cooperative. We're looking forward to the truth coming out."

Rubenstein adds that the situation has nothing to do with Neiers' reality show currently in the works with E!

On Friday, after word of the arrests came down, E! released a statement acknowledging Neiers and her family were working on a pilot.

"We are concerned by recent events, awaiting further details and will be monitoring the situation closely," the network said in a statement.

Neiers and four of her former high school classmates were arrested in connection with the Lohan burglary in August. Law-enforcement sources say that the suspects may have been involved in a string of similar heists involving Audrina Patridge, Paris Hilton, Orlando Bloom and Rachel Bilson.
