What David Archuleta's father likely wouldn't do for the good old days, when the worst thing he was accused of was being an overly aggressive stage father.

Cut to today, however, and James Archuleta has a whole other media nightmare on his hands, as it's been revealed that the American Idol runner-up's dad pleaded no contest back in January to solicitation of prostitution.

Apparently, it's not the quiet ones you have to look out for…it's the quiet ones' parents.

According to court documents, the 47-year-old Archuleta was cited on Jan. 14 at Salt Lake City "massage parlor" Queens Reiki as a result of an undercover police sting.

Police Sgt. John Salazar told E! News cops had kept an eye on the establishment for several days prior to the bust after receiving complaints from patients at a nearby doctor's office of less-than-above-board goings-on.

The complaints were initially lodged because of "the way [the masseuses] were dressed."

After sending in an undercover officer, Salazar said cops discovered the business was operating without a license and promptly shut it down.

"We went into the massage parlor, locked doors and took identification. I asked if anyone was there, and they said yes, they had one client. There was one client receiving a massage. Identification was made. He was a consenting adult, and he said he received sexual gratification from a masseuse."

A label rep for the Idol singer had no direct comment, but said, "David is busy preparing for his upcoming tour with Demi Lovato. He thanks his fans for their continued support."

Archuleta pleaded no contest on Jan. 30 of this year. He was fined, and has since paid, a $582 court fee and completed counseling. Should he manage to stay out of similarly prurient trouble through the end of the month, the case will be dismissed.

Talk about a not-so-happy ending.
