E! NetworksThe new sitcom Mike and Molly has been in the news lately because Hollywood thinks it's about "fat people." Stories have erupted about the fact that television has a couple of shows on the air that have actors in them who don't look like they are about to drop dead...well, at least not from lack of eating. Billy Gardell, friend of Chelsea Lately, joked that he feels as if Hollywood is asking "are there fat people out there...?" I hope that Hollywood isn't trying to suggest that this is a bad thing. Every morning I ask myself if there are fat people out there. It's the reason I get out of bed. I want to find them all and move them into my summer home. Fat people are happy and they smile and they are fun to hold on to. If Hollywood wants to run anybody off the air, there are plenty of people on VH1 who contribute nothing to society other than keeping Valtrex in business.
