Ryan Seacrest's got game!

During an appearance on the Today show this morning, our E! pal revealed that he will be joining NBC to help cover the Olympics this summer in London.

"I've worked with the E! network for years, and NBCUniversal and E! are in the same family," Seacrest told Matt Lauer. "The plan is for me to join the NBC family and continue to have a role at the E! network. The first assignment will be to join the prime time team for the Olympics on NBC."

The news comes after a lot of recent speculation that Seacrest had been in talks to replace Lauer, a subject the two playfully joked about on-air.

"Oh, they didn't tell you?" Seacrest teased, before adding, "I see you doing this for as long as you want to, so maybe the question is, how long will you be on the Today show?"

Nevertheless, Lauer said he still wanted "names and dates" of conversations Seacrest had regarding Today.

"They were mostly about filling in to do the weather," quipped Seacrest.

Uh-oh. Watch out, Al Roker.

(E! and NBC are part of the NBCUniversal family.)
