Dressing on the side please: Lady Gaga's next outrageous getup may be a wedge salad.

After hearing that the "Born This Way" singer is heading to India to headline the country's first Formula 1 Grand Prix, PETA is urging the singer to wear a lettuce dress.

It's a far cry from the horrific-looking meat number, complete with a beef beret, she wore to the 2010 VMAs.

So will the singer wear the veggie-friendly couture?

Gaga has yet to agree to slipping into the salad gown, but if she does it'll be quite a delicate piece.

According to PETA's Sachin Bangera, the lettuce dress would take nearly six hours to construct. "If she agrees, we'll make her a dress entirely of lettuce and held together by pins and threads," he explained in a statement.

"It'll be a full length gown, and we'll make sure it looks sexy...someone will be on hand to spray the lettuce with water so that it doesn't wilt."

The animal activist group wants Gaga to flaunt the lettuce dress to show her Little Monsters the benefits of avoiding meat.
