She and hubby Barry Herridge remain very much back together.

"We are still married," she said with a smile last night at the release party for the Albert Nobbs soundtrack at the Palihouse hotel in West Hollywood. "Yes, yes. We are married."

Is she happy? "Yes, I am," said O'Connor, who was wearing what appeared to be a simple wedding ring. "I'm very happy."

The "Nothing Compares 2 U" singer has had quite an eventful month. After surprising fans by getting hitched on her 45th birthday on Dec. 8, she announced just three weeks later she was ending the marriage.

But then she surprised everyone again when she tweeted on Tuesday that she had spent the night before having, well, intimate relations with Herridge.

But should we always believe what she tweets? "I don't talk much about my private life on Twitter except for stupid funny s--t," she said. "I just want to make people giggle and maybe make some friends."

She definitely seemed to have made some new friends last night. It was a packed house for the soundtrack shindig, which was hosted by Albert Nobbs star and cowriter Glenn Close.

You could have heard a pin drop when O'Connor performed "Lay Your Head Down," the movie's end-credits song that was actually written by Close. Not only is the track up for a Golden Globe, but it will likely be an Oscar contender, too.
