That's Johnny Depp describing Ian McShane's character in this exclusive look at a behind-the-scenes clip featured on Tuesday's Blu-ray/DVD release of Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.
But one look at the video above and it's immediately obvious that McShane himself is nothing like the guy he portrays in the film as playfully interacts with both Depp and Penélope Cruz on set.
"We don't call them bad men anymore. We call them complicated characters, thank you," quips McShane. "Interesting people with difficult childhoods is the way I like to put it. Not bad people."
A very good way of putting it indeed.
