The nominations are out for the 66th Annual Tony Awards, setting the stage for a toe-tapping, booty-shimmying showdown among Broadway vets and newcomers, not to mention enough star power to keep those marquees burning bright!
Front and center are flashy movie-to-stage adaptations like Newsies, Ghost the Musical and Once, which led the field with 11 nods, including Best Musical.
Hollywood was also amply repped with noms for Andrew Garfield, Cynthia Nixon and Philip Seymour Hoffman, among others.
But did Broadway's most headline-grabbing (and bone-breaking) show, Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark, manage to swing any nods?

"I'm feeling very happy this morning," Dexter's enthusiastic Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series nominee John Lithgow told us bright and early Thursday from the Canadian set of his new flick, Rise of the Apes (another "glorious" piece of work, he says).
