It's a holiday homecoming for George Michael.

The "Faith" singer was released from a Vienna hospital Wednesday, nearly a month after checking in with severe pneumonia that forced the cancellation of his Symphonica European tour.

Heal the pain, indeed.

A rep for the 48-year-old Michael confirmed to Austria's Oesterreich newspaper that not long after being discharged from the AKA clinic around 8 a.m., the Grammy winner hopped a flight back to London and plans to continue resting at home.

Michael fell ill a few hours before a Nov. 21 concert in Vienna and was rushed to the emergency room, where he was subsequently treated for pneumonia. But it took weeks of bed rest before doctors could give him the all-clear to travel.

"He's feeling a lot better. He's doing so well, he's able to fly again," a hospital staffer told the paper.

As for the Symphonica trek—which found Michael crooning his hits along with covers by other artists like Amy Winehouse and New Order accompanied by a full orchestra—those holding tickets to the nixed shows have been told to hold onto them, as the former Wham! frontman plans to announce a revised itinerary and return to the road in 2012.
