James Durbin wouldn't change a thing.
Because everything that led up to right now became fodder for his debut studio album, Memories of a Beautiful Disaster, the American Idol finalist's ode to all of the experiences—especially the seemingly disastrous ones—that made him who he is today.
And though the album isn't on sale until Monday, you can exclusively listen to the whole thing right here!
Along with the power ballad "Love Me Bad," the lineup includes "a lot of anthems" and a tune called "Screaming," which, in a recent interview with Fox News, Durbin described as a "cry for help about being bullied."
The 22-year-old from Santa Cruz, Calif. with the voice that knows no upper limit said that he wrote "about my life and my fiancé, things that inspire me."
And as you can hear, those inspirations also include arena rock, 80s hair metal and classic guitar riffs.
