Marquardt's been broken up with Hugh Hefner since last fall, and now the Girl Next Door is stepping out with her latest love, director Nicholas Carpenter. "He's funny and sincere and really sweet," Marquardt said at the Russell Simmons and Global Grind soiree at a private mansion in Beverly Hills. "He's so cute!"
Although the buxom blonde and Carpenter met "a long time ago," when he directed her and fellow Girl Next Door star Holly Madison in the indie horror flick The Telling, the romance didn't begin until a couple of months ago. "I'm very happy," Marquardt said.
Meanwhile, across town, Jay-Z held court at Japanese restaurant Katsuya in Hollywood.
A Beyoncé-less Jay-Z hosted a dinner for 60 people, including sister-in-law Solange Knowles, Kanye West, Gwen Stefani and Chris Tucker. Despite the festive mood, there's no doubt Jay-Z didn't have Rihanna on his mind. As soon as the story broke that police were looking for Chris Brown, more than one person at the Grammys had this prediction: "Jay-Z will get to him before the cops."
Lil' Jon was spotted at Universal Motown's afterparty at Rande Gerber’s Whiskey Blue bar in the W Los Angeles hotel. He was taking pictures with fans, while Busta Rhymes hung with his posse in the VIP area.
On Saturday night, while Clive Davis wowed the who's who of the music biz once again with his annual pre-Grammy bash at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, Lil Wayne was toasted by his label, Cash Money, at the nearby Montage hotel. In the house were Paris and Nicky Hilton, a Kim Kardashian-less Reggie Bush, a Nicole Richie-less Joel Madden, Keri Hilson, Twista and Akon.
