Kirsten Storms is taking a breather from one of TV's longest running soap operas.
The General Hospital star went on Twitter this Memorial Day weekend to confirm she will be taking some time off to focus on her health.
"Tweeters! First, thank you for the outpouring of love & support. I appreciate all the positive message I've received," she wrote online. "Second, yes I am taking a little break from work due to some skin issues I've been having."
She continued, "My dr's say my breakouts are due to stress, but shouldn't take too long to get under control. (I can say that I'm on the better end of it now) However, it was becoming too difficult for GH to cover up. And we all know in this biz appearance is important."
Last week, Daytime Confidential reported that Kirsten would be temporarily leaving the show she has been a part of since 2005. Days of Our Lives star Molly Burnett is stepping in for the time being.
Ultimately, Kirsten is completely focused on getting better. And yes, she can't wait to reprise her role as Maxie Jones sooner rather than later.
"In the meantime, I look forward to watching Molly on screen as I take the next few weeks to heal," she wrote. "Again—thanks for the love and you will see me again in no time!"
