In case you missed the big news, E! News confirmed Wednesday afternoon that Alexis Bledel welcomed her first child with husband Vincent Kartheiser last fall.
The baby announcement immediately got us thinking of how excited the Gilmore Girls family must feel with the news. After all, there was just something extra special about the dynamic of Lorelai Gilmore (Lauren Graham) and her TV daughter Rory Gilmore (Alexis).
Before you start to wonder how Alexis would be as a mom, we have to acknowledge the words of wisdom her TV mom passed on for seven years. And even though the actress isn't raising her boy in Stars Hollow, the advice may be something she can't help but take in today.
1. Prepare yourself for unusual odors, especially if it involves a diaper.
2. Your kids are going to grow up so fast and you're going to need a moment to stay strong. And no, Luke's Diner will not always be open.
3. There's a slight chance that your house may become a whole lot messier with a growing baby roaming around.
4. There's an even bigger chance that your kid is still going to love you, even during those scary teenage years.
5. Enjoy any and all sleep whenever you can get it. And remember, there's always coffee!
6. Planning birthday parties will suddenly become a lot more fun again.
7. Even when you become a mom, you'll still end up dreading Mondays.
8. There's nothing like some quality mother-daughter time in the great outdoors.
9. Your parents and in-laws are going to want to visit a lot more often...like a lot.
10. Once you have one, you may just want to have another child. We're just sayin'.
