Kim Kardashian is no stranger to showing some skin, but would she be willing to arrive naked to an awards show? Ellen DeGeneres thinks so.
In fact, the daytime talk show host cheered on the idea when the reality star stopped by FaceTimed for a quick chat on her show Tuesday.
Hours before the reality star was set to arrive to the 2016 Webby Awards, Kardashian had a brainstorming session with the comedian in—surprise!—her makeup chair. As the winner of this year's Break The Internet Award, the mother of two had to come up with an incredibly brief speech confined to only five words. Ellen had an idea.
"I thank Ellen Lee DeGeneres," she suggested. Or how about "You're welcome for nude selfies." Kardashian had a similar thought.
"Long live the nude selfie," the fashionista added. Judging by the sheer analytics, Kardashian's March naked mirror selfie may very well live on forever.
With over 1 million likes on Instagram, the image did more than "break the internet" again. It launched the reoccurring debate over what female liberation looks like and whether nudity contributes to empowerment as celebrities like Pink, Emily Ratajkowsi and Bette Midler weighed in.
Needless to say, it was a social media moment the pop culture annals may never forget.
Once the speech brainstorm had settled down, Kardashian turned her attention to her outfit for the evening.
"My dress is being sewn in the back," she revealed. "I could always go nude." The idea was met with cheers from the audience and DeGeneres herself. "Do it! Do that!" the host said.
"I don't think anyone wants to see that," Kardashian added.
"Clearly nobody ever looks at those things that you post," DeGeneres quipped back. Point well made.
Instead, the honoree opted for a black draped off-the-shoulder gown for her winning night at the Webby's, though nudity was still on her mind.
"Nude selfies 'til I die," she proclaimed at the podium.
