ABC is trying to smooth out the rocky road that has surfaced in the past week.

Kelly Ripa has reportedly received an apology from network executives after learning of her Live! co-host Michael Strahan's departure from the show to go to Good Morning America full time at the same time as the public. According to CNN, the executives "expressed regret for the way Kelly was told the news."

The personal apology was conveyed by Ben Sherwood, the president of the Disney-ABC Television Group, and his leadership team, including ABC stations president Rebecca Campbell and ABC News president James Goldston, who also issued apologies to Strahan and the two stars' agents.

After being absent from LIVE! With Kelly and Michael for close to a week, Ripa is returning to the ABC talk-show Tuesday where she will sit alongside Strahan, marking their first real interaction since the meeting revealing his new gig.

Before the chatting begins again, some may be curious to know the dynamic of these two ever since the shake-ups were announced. According to a source close to the show, the pair has not spoken to each other since last week but they have been communicating over text.

"It's been simple," our source shared. "Very cordial."

As of now, both Kelly and Michael have no plans to see each other before Tuesday's show tapes live in New York City. Instead, our insider said, "They are just going in and doing it tomorrow."

Ripa's ongoing absence sparked speculation about the show's future, but that was put to rest when it was renewed through 2020.

She announced her return in an email to LIVE! staffers Friday. "(Sorry for this late Friday night email). I wanted to thank you all for giving me the time to process this new information. Your kindness, support, and love has overwhelmed me," she wrote. "We are a family and I look forward to seeing you all on Tuesday morning. Love, Kelly."

Meanwhile, Strahan was last seen appearing on the 92Y podcast in New York City tonight, and although he didn't talk about Ripa, he did discuss his role as a successful businessman, father, citizen and giving back to the community.
