Demons beware, Shadowhunters is sticking around. Freeform has ordered a second season of the fantasy series based on Cassandra Clare's The Mortal Instruments book series. The news was announced in a Facebook live chat.

Everything changed for Clary Fray on her birthday when she discovered she's no ordinary girl: she's a Shadowhunter, a human-angel hybrid who hunts down demons. After her mom was kidnapped, Clary went straight into the world of shadowhunting with the mysterious Jace, other Shadowhunters Isabelle and Alec and best friend Simon. Katherine McNamara stars as Clary, Dominic Sherwood as Jace, Alberto Rosende as Simon, Matthew Daddario as Alec, Emeraude Toubia as Isabelle, Isaiah Mustafa as Luke and Harry Shum Jr. as Magnus Bane.

The series launched as Freeform's No. 2 series premiere on record with 1.6 million adults in the 18-49 demographic and 1.4 in the 25-54 demo.

Shadowhunter's first season finale airs Tuesday, April 5 at 9 p.m.
