To say that there was a lot going at the 2016 Oscars is an understatement.

The style alone provided enough content to fill our water-cooler convos for the next week. Between the sequins, fabrics, makeup and accessories, there were so many details you may have missed. Luckily, I watched from the sidelines and saw all the leading ladies up close and personal.

We all know that good things come to those who wait, and it's no different when it comes to the red carpet.

Jennifer Lawrence made her appearance in the eleventh hour in a stunning, lacy Dior gown. This look came off the couture spring runway and was modified by adding in a slip and lengthening it down to the floor. Hats off to J. Law for taking control of her look.

"Nobody knows or cares about designers [in Kentucky]. I care! But I didn't used to," she said. "I think I had to take control…It was like, if I don't start getting an opinion, I'm just gonna be like a puppet that's being dressed by everybody else."

Charlize Theron clearly takes the cake! She had a whopping $3.7 million worth of diamonds hanging on her last night. The Harry Winston jewelry included a cluster diamond necklace, which clocked in at a whopping 48.8 carats. Suprisingly, I didn't see any security guards trailing in her midst.

The look of the night was a bold highly pigmented lip as seen on Olivia Munn, Naomi Watts and Rooney Mara. Olivia sported a bold orange tinted lip, which paired perfectly with her one-shouldered gown from Stella McCartney. I love that the rest of the face is kept relatively natural so as to draw more attention to the lips.

Alicia Vikander, the face of Louis Vuitton and now an Oscar winner, wore custom-made metallic LV sandals that were specially designed for her fairy-tale ball gown. The shoes were fiercely modern and chic but also enhanced the details of her fabulous dress—even though she told us that she would be kicking them off for the Vanity Fair after party to boogie.

Olivia Wilde carried a fabulous Roger Vivier Boite de Nuit Caviar piece covered in ivory colored beading, which perfectly matched her Valentino haute couture gown. Heavy beaded clutches seemed to be a trend last night. Kate Bosworth and Cate Blanchett were carrying ones as well.
