Whatever happened to Wall Street businessman/insane serial killer Patrick Bateman from American Psycho?

The novel, which got the big screen treatment in a 2000 film starring Christian Bale, was published 25 years ago.

Author Bret Easton Ellis recently opened up to Town & Country to reveal what he imagines the '80s yuppie would be up to these days.

Spoiler alert: It involves Mark Zuckerberg and Kanye West.

Ellis says if Bateman's story had been set in the past decade, he imagines the character would have been working in Silicon Valley "palling around with Zuckerberg" and "wearing a Yeezy hoodie and teasing girls on Tinder."

We can probably assume he's gotten rid of those Huey Lewis and the News CDs at this point too, right?

The author adds that he could just as easily see Bateman being "a hedge-funder in New York."

American Psycho isn't only a novel and film; there is now American Psycho: The Musical, which enjoyed a sold-out run in London run and will hit Broadway at the end of March.

Based on these dance moves, we definitely could have seen that coming for Patrick Bateman.
