Just call her the modern-day Martha Stewart.

Sure, the OG lifestyle maven is one of Jenni Kayne's career heroes, but don't let that overshadow the fact that the California-based fashion designer has created an equally-as-ambitious namesake brand of her own.

Along with being the go-to resource for elevated basics like natural-fiber shirts and pointy-toe flats, the mom of two has a penchant for entertaining. In fact, she keeps a running roster of recipes, DIY projects and more on her lifestyle blog, Rip&Tan.

If you're wondering how she seemingly does it all, Jenni herself sat down with us to shed some light.

What was your first job?
Pretty much my brand Jenni Kayne. After various internships and time spent at design school, I started my line when I was 19.

How did you get started in your career?
I always knew I wanted to run my own business, and I made great connections at an early age in the fashion world. At the beginning I did everything myself, from designing to sampling to production.

What is a typical day like for you?
In the mornings I either ride at Sullivan Canyon stables or head to Tracey Anderson for a workout. Next I answer emails, head to the office and often stop by one of my stores to check in.

Tell us about your office décor. When did you last give your office a makeover?
Our office is clean, minimal and filled with neutral tones. I'm obsessed with Muji office supplies so you will find a lot of them in our space.

Getting to be creative and collaborate with so many talented people.

What's the most daring career risk you've ever taken?
Opening my first retail space in West Hollywood.

Who are some of your career heroes?
Martha Stewart.

What is the best piece of advice you've ever received?
Surround yourself with an amazing team that supports you.

When was the last time you felt inspired and how did you channel that into your designs?
I'm constantly inspired especially when I travel and it always influences my designs.

What popular trends this season do you wish would just go away?
I don't pay attention to trends.

If you could dress anyone, who would it be?
Jane Birkin.
