There is a Sunday coming up where the most prestigious and talented athletes of our time will meet on the field for the most important sporting event of the year.

If you think we're talking about Super Bowl 50, you clearly don't get us at all and maybe we should break up. If you know that we're talking about the one and only Kitten Bowl, then come a little closer and let's cuddle. Because yes, when we are referring to an upcoming sporting event, you better believe we're all about the sporting event that's basically just fluffy, adorable kittens running around a fake football field. Who needs a Super Bowl when you have athletes named Mr. Slippers and Marshmallow jumping on each other and chasing tiny footballs?!

Kitten Bowl III is premiering on Sunday, Feb. 7 on Hallmark Channel, but you probably don't need to know that as you have already DVR'd it and sent out invitations for your cat-themed watching party.

The best part about the Kitten Bowl? Every single kitten participating in the event goes up for adoption immediately after the taping. Through Hallmark Channel's partnership with North Shore Animal League America and Last Hope Animal Rescue, they've gathered over 100 kittens and adult cats to put up for adoption so they can find a forever home.

We know what you're thinking. You're thinking, "Hey, I need some stats and bios on these cathletes so I can adequately prepare myself for the big game!" And to that we say: nice cathlete pun.
