While many couples get engaged at Disney theme parks, San Francisco Giants right fielder Hunter Pence threw quite the curveball when it came time to create his own magical moment.

The 32-year-old baseball player and girlfriend Alexis Cozombolidis, 30, have been dating for more than a year. Pence recently arranged for them to take part in a televised interview for the Disney Parks Blog at Walt Disney World, filmed at nightfall on a balcony as the park's fireworks went off.

"From this trip, my best memory, um, I think is, is right now," he said, getting down on one knee, as seen in a YouTube video posted on her page on Thursday. "Because, Alexis, I've loved you from the second that I laid eyes on you."

"You have made me such a better man," he said. "I've literally, you're my best friend, you're my soul mate. When we started, I didn't understand the way our relationship really works. Will you take my hand? I promise to always love, be a stand-up, loyal, true man to you, to give you my all."

"Oh my God," Cozombolidis said, tearfully.

"There's no way I would ever say, 'No,'" she said, grinning, after he placed an engagement ring on her finger. "Ever."

Cozombolidis tweeted a photo of a photo of the two in front of Cinderella's Castle at the Magic Kingdom, as well as a link to the YouTube video.

"WE'RE GETTING MARRIED!!" she wrote. "My fairytale dream is coming true!"

Pence posted photos of the proposal on social media and also shared a pic of the two sitting down for a meal, showing his new fiancée flashing her ring.
