The reality show couple got some much needed R&R during a "day date" yesterday in celebration of Dean's 49th birthday, which he rang in on Nov. 16. They hit up a Japanese spa where they enjoyed massages, sushi and, of course, kimonos.
"For @imdeanmcdermott birthday we had the most amazing and ultimate #JapaneseExperience w/ @tomoko_spa #DateDay," Tori wrote on Instagram alongside a mirror selfie of the two decked out in their robes.
She followed up the first photo with another of the two eating traditional Japanese cuisine and smiling from ear-to-ear.
"And just when we thought the experience at @tomoko_spa couldn't get any better... They brought out amazing sushi by @sugarfishbynozawa," she captioned the pic.
A few days before their spa retreat, Tori and Dean spent his actual birthday on a shoot with The Cooking Channel, but despite having to work, they both looked very happy.
"Loved being #CraftyandTheChef this am w/my Bday boy @imdeanmcdermott on promoting @cookingchannel," Tori gushed beside a photo with her hubby.
The happy photos are a proof that the couple has definitely been working on their marriage lately. In fact, just last month, Tori told E! News that her family has "come far" over the last few years.
"We've come far since last year and the year before," she told Catt Sadler. "Every year we're getting stronger and moving forward, and I think right now we're closer than ever and things are going really great."
Tori and Dean went through a bit of a rocky road in their relationship the last couple of years. In 2013, it was revealed that McDermott had an affair—something that almost ended their marriage. However, after documenting their heartbreaking road to recovery on their True Tori docu-series, the couple seems to be moving forward in a positive direction—Japanese spa, included!
