Charlie Sheen isn't the first Hollywood celebrity to find out he's HIV positive.

And he probably won't be the last.

The Anger Management actor revealed his diagnosis during an interview this morning with Matt Lauer on the Today show. Just a few weeks before, former Who's the Boss? child star Danny Pintauro also went public with his positive status.

Sheen said, "I have a responsibility now to better myself and to help a lot of other people, and hopefully with what we're doing today, others may come forward and say, 'Thanks, Charlie. Thanks for kicking the door open.'"

With that, we're taking a look back at the history of HIV and AIDS in Hollywood. From Rock Hudson's illness and eventual death inspiring Elizabeth Taylor's AIDS activism to Magic Johnson living with HIV since 1991, the epidemic has had a long and devastating impact on Hollywood.
