Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow win the award for friendliest celebrity exes.

The divorced duo might not be trying to reconcile their romance anymore, but the relationship they have as friends and co-parents is still an extremely important one. In fact, Chris told Ryan Seacrest on his KIIS-FM radio show Thursday that he and Gwyneth "have tried really hard" to continue to work on it.

"Just because a romantic relationship ends doesn't mean that the other facets of your relationship have to end," the Coldplay frontman said. "Or, indeed, doesn't mean they can't get better."

Both Chris, 38, and Gwyneth, 43, are wholeheartedly committed to doing what's best for their daughter Apple, 11, and son Moses, 9. It's largely because of that, Gwyneth revealed earlier this year, that they're able to maintain such a warm rapport despite no longer being married.

"I think, unfortunately, though we couldn't stay in a romantic relationship, we're very, our values are very much around the importance of family and the importance of those relationships and I'm lucky that we're aligned in that way," the Oscar winner said this past summer at the #BlogHer15 conference in New York, presented by SheKnows Media.

"And it's been hard," she admitted, "and you know, like, we've gone through really difficult times with it but we've always said these children are our priority."

Both Gwyneth and Brad seem OK with letting one another move on, too. It was just this past September that she finally confirmed her romance with Glee co-creator Brad Falchuk (via an Instagram selfie, naturally). And although Chris is no longer dating Jennifer Lawrence, a source told E! News at the time Gwyneth was supportive and "very happy" for her ex.

Maybe that whole "conscious uncoupling" concept wasn't so crazy after all.
