Whether you're watching something emotional or going through a tragedy, crying is more than likely one of your top automatic responses.

For Anna Faris, however, releasing the waterworks proves difficult more often than not. She and Joshua Jackson appeared on The Late Late Show With James Corden Tuesday where they were both asked if it was harder for them to laugh or cry on command. Chris Pratt's wife revealed that she actually struggles to cry in real life, even when a situation calls for tears.

"If I ever cried in my personal life [my mother] would sort of come down on me," Faris confessed, "so I have a tough time crying."

When she has to laugh on cue, Faris uses a trick Mom co-star Allison Janney, tought her: act like you're getting punched in the stomach. But Janney couldn't give her any tips for crying on command, so Faris will sometimes rely on an "old actors' trick": a tear stick.

Described as "Vick's VapoRub but for eyeballs," the tear stick makes actors tear up as a result of the burning sensation, so naturally host James Corden wanted to give it a try.

"It looks like a suppository," the late-night talk show host joked.

As soon as Faris blew the fumes into his eyes, Corden started to squint and writhe in pain. A few seconds later and the Into the Woods actor was crying.

"I just can't believe you guys have come to see me," an emotional Corden told his guest stars.

Even Jackson couldn't get over how perfectly Corden pulled off the tears, praising him for his misty look. But a few minutes after the British host started to well up, Jackson's tears began to flow.
