For Vanessa Lachey, family always comes first.
"Without a doubt, priority No. 1 is always my family," the 34-year-old mother-of-two told E! News when she stopped by the studio this week to promote her new NBC series, Truth Be Told. "Whether it's my children or my husband or even my girlfriends who are also my family, I put them first no matter what. And it makes it easy to then juggle everything else because it's never a question."
The actress and her husband, Nick Lachey, welcomed their second child, daughter Brooklyn, in Jan. 2015. The happy couple, who wed in 2011, are also parents to 3-year-old son Camden.
"I love having a little girl, and honestly, I now understand what people say when they say 'You don't love one more than the other.' You love them differently but equally," Lachey revealed.
"Everything that went on in my life…it was super important for me to have Camden first," the brunette beauty continued. "And by that I mean my son and to have that relationship with my son to give me that quiet confidence that I needed as a mother and as a woman. Now with Brooklyn, I am just so at ease, I am so comfortable."
The proud mama then revealed 10-month-old Brooklyn's first word—watch the clip to hear what it was!
As for how Camden is as a big brother?
"He's amazing as a big brother," Lachey gushed. "Mostly because Nick and I try to give the foundation of…a fair playing field. So every morning we make sure, 'Good morning, Camden. Good morning, Brooklyn.' If we say 'I love you so much to Camden' then we say the same thing to Brooklyn or vice versa, so that he always knows you guys are in this together. I know that you're the big brother, but she's also our little girl. We're all in this as a family."
When Lachey's not busy juggling her two kids, the actress has been busy with the forthcoming comedy series Truth Be Told, which was created by DJ Nash, and also stars Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Tone Bell and Bresha Webb.
"We feel like we have something special…I feel like we have this really beautiful, hilarious show," Lachey said with pride.
The pilot episode premieres tonight at 8:30 p.m. on NBC, and the entire cast will be live-tweeting.
"It's all in an attempt to connect with the viewer…" Vanessa shared, "So we're there for them, they can reach out to us every Friday night when the show is on—east coast and west coast—we want to do it as much as we can, and we want to answer all the questions that they ask us via any social media outlet."
