It looks like Tracy Morgan may be squeezing in some extra funny time for his upcoming episode of SNL.

The 46-year-old former 30 Rock actor posted a photo of himself, mic in hand, onstage at Comedy Cellar in New York City working on his craft—his first official stand-up comedy performance since a tragic car crash in June 2014 on the New Jersey turnpike left him hospitalized in a coma.

"My first time on stage in 16 months at the #ComedyCellar!" Morgan tweeted. "Picking up the pieces!"

The seasoned comedian looked comfortable in his element as he stood without a cane or any other assistive device, a sign that Morgan is officially ready for his comeback live televised performance in over a year on Saturday for SNL with musical guest Demi Lovato

In addition to his upcoming hosting gig on the late-night sketch show, Morgan was also recently spotted shooting a new movie, Fist Fight, in Atlanta. The actor was decked out in sports gear to act alongside co-stars Ice Cube, Charlie Day and Dean Norris

The last time the comedian performed in a movie was Chris Rock's 2014 hit Top Five, so clearly this new film role is long overdue.

While we anxiously await Morgan's newest projects, we are thankful we did get to see him take the stage at the 2015 Emmy Awards, his first major public Hollywood appearance since recovering from the car crash.

"I miss you guys so much," Morgan explained after receiving a standing ovation from the A-list crowd. "Jimmy Kimmel said on this stage that we'll see you back here next year, Tracy Morgan. Well, thanks to my amazing doctors and the support of my family and my beautiful new wife, I'm here standing on my own two feet."

Keep standing, Tracy! You're making all of us so proud.
