Miley Cyrus's hosting stint and musical performance on Saturday Night Live this past weekend was the party before the party.

E! News has learned that the celeb, who pulled double duty over the weekend for the famous NBC show's premiere in New York, celebrated her big night until the wee hours of the morning.

The "Wrecking Ball" singer stepped out after her gig to attend an after-party at Rosa Mexicano sporting a sheer black top with strategically-placed sunflowers to cover her naughty pillows, and a short black skirt over sheer, shimmery stockings and black heels.

Cyrus also made sure to accessorize with huge happy face earrings with a matching handbag, and pulled her blond dreadlocks into a ponytail.

Miley arrived at the restaurant around 1:30 a.m. alongside a few band members. "She seemed very chill," a source tells E! News. "The party was very laid back, just kind of a toasting celebration. No loud music or anything."

However, that changed later on in the night. The celeb left the restaurant around 4:30 a.m. with a friend, and ended up going to a dance club in Chinatown until 6 a.m., the insider tells us.

It's very understandable that the 22-year-old would want to get loose and have some fun after Saturday. Aside from celebrating high ratings and bringing in the laughs with her various sketches, Miley experienced a whirlwind of emotions when performing some of her new music.

The singer began crying while performing her new ballad, "The Twinkle Song" on a piano with a framed heart-shaped photograph of her deceased dog, Floyd, placed on top.

"Dear Floyd, thank you for sharing this magical moment with mommy," Cyrus wrote on Instagram. "I misssssssss yiewwwwww #mileyonsnl #thetwinklesong #wemissutwinkle #wemissufloyd #wemissupablow."

The song is from her new, free album, Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz and contains lyrics such as "And I had a dream / I was being chased by a monster/ Maybe they were aliens . But I wasn't scared 'cause you were there / And I had a dream / You took karate / That's when you said you loved me / You loved me / What does it mean? /What does it all mean?"

We may never know what it means, but we do know one thing—John Mayer is a fan.
