Abbie and Ichabod: Roomies? When Sleepy Hollow returns for season three, our favorite lost in time Revolutionary War hero and our favorite newly minted FBI agent will be shacking up together as brand new roommates.

"They're flatmates now," star Tom Mison dishes to E! News while in Los Angeles filming scenes for the upcoming Sleepy Hollow-Bones crossover episode, st to  air on Oct. 29. "It's very Odd Couple. Ichabod, surprisingly, is the messy one."

The new living arrangement will be gold as far as those fun Ichabod and Abbie (Nicole Beharie) back-and-forth moments go. "There's a very funny scene where she finds him continuing his addiction to online gaming and junk food when he's supposed to be revising for an exam," Mison says.

There's also some prime banter headed your way, although it's unclear if the Witnesses will actually spoon on the couch and watch Netflix together like Mison teases. "Ichabod's the little spoon," he jokes. And what do they love to watch? "Oh, High School Musical, Hannah Montana," he says with a laugh. "Face packs. Wait 'til the scene where they have a bubble bath together!"

Wait, what?!

Something tells us that might not actually be what happens, but you never know with this show. One thing you will see? Ichabod sporting a new look. You will catch a glimpse of him briefly out of his colonial garb—vague tease alert!—and his hair is slightly different and shorter.

"This is my real hair. No more wig," he spills. "I am very excited. I don't miss it at all! And I wear it for the flashbacks, of course, because there are plenty of flashbacks. I've never discussed hair so much in my life as I did in the run-up to this season. It seemed like a really good way to show instantly without really saying anything that Ichabod's changed—but it's hardly the coolest haircut in the world!"

When the show picks up in the premiere, "a year has passed after the events of the finale," Mison reveals. "Ichabod just disappears without a word. It transpires he's gone back to England and to Scotland to explore his lineage and Abbie has seen that as an opportunity to go back to Quantico and finish her FBI training. So when they're reunited, there has been no contact between them. Not a word for about nine months."

Though Abbie is concerned that he was gone for a while, she understands. "There is a moment where he kind of apologizes and explains himself as best as Ichabod can," Mison says. "There's reason for it. He needed space, I think. Also, on a practical level, I think the writers wanted to avoid Ichabod shuffling his heels and moping about the death of Katrina and Henry. A bit of a sabbatical probably helps."
