Praise be to Kurt Sutter, for he hath brought unto you your next smokin' hot TV boyfriend: Lee Jones, the star of the Sons of Anarchy creator's latest FX drama, The Bastard Executioner.

The new series follows a very different group of characters than the arms-dealing California biker gang of SOA: It's an epic medieval tale of Wilkin Brattle (the aforementioned sexy Jones), a knight who tries to give up his violent, warrior lifestyle but is convinced by a divine messenger to fulfill his destiny by becoming the titular executioner.

In an exclusive sneak peek at the premiere, you can see Jones in action as Brattle as he lovingly embraces his pregnant wife, Petra (Elen Rhys), before conversing with Katey Sagal's mystical healer Annora. Bonus: You can see Sutter himself in action as the Dark Mute, who is most definitely not texting in the background of the scene, but actually writing Annora a message while she talks to Wilkin.

Watch the clip and you'll know one thing for sure: this 14th century Game of Thrones-esque Welsh world is very different than the sun-scorched present-day Charming, Calif.

The Bastard Executioner also stars True Blood's Stephen Moyer, Darren Evans, Sam Spruell, Flora Spencer-Longhurst, Timothy V. Murphy, Brian F. O'Byrne, and Kyle Rees. Guest stars in season one will include The Americans star Matthew Rhys (who is Welsh IRL, despite his mastering of disguises and an American accent on his FX show) and singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran.

TBX premieres tonight, Tuesday, Sept. 15, at 10 p.m. on FX.
