Are you ready for a remake of When Harry Met Sally? Well, Sesame Street is giving you one. Sort of.
The show is parodying the classic 1989 film starring Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal in "When Cookie Met Sally," with Cookie Monster taking on the Billy Crystal role. And yes, they even put a kid-friendly spin on Meg Ryan's infamous fake orgasm scene, with Cookie Monster and Sally enjoying the desserts they waited oh-so-patiently-for in "a famous deli in New York City," in the clip above, which teaches a valuable lesson about patience.
"Cookie was a monster who was totally out of control, Sally was a girl who was totally in control," the voice-over reads. "Could these two very different characters ever be friends?"
Spoiler alert: Yes. And we'll totally have what they're having. (Mmm...cookies. Though that pastrami on rye sounds delicious, too.)
And the risque parody isn't Sesame Street's only bold move as of yet as the show is moving to HBO. Seriously! The next five seasons will air on the cable network's channels, and allow Sesame Workshop to "produce almost twice as much new content as previous seasons, and for the first time ever, make the show available free of charge to PBS and its member stations after a nine-month window."
The new episodes will begin airing on HBO this fall in both English and Spanish before heading to PBS.
