Amy Schumer is curvy and proud of it!

The stand-up comedienne has been very candid about sexism and her weight, and told reporters at a press conference for hew new film Trainwreck that she's happy she doesn't look so skinny.

"It's very therapeutic for me to be like, ‘Yes, I'm not going to look like a malnourished bird,' and I like speaking to that, as well as speaking to my work and what I'm doing," she explained, per People.

In the movie Schumer plays a serial dater, but some have determined her character's actions take on an act-like-a-man attitude, but the Comedy Central star doesn't agree. "A lot of people have asked me if I intended to kind of flip the gender roles like I'm playing the guy, and that's not been my experience at all," she said.

In fact, she wasn't trying to adopt a male attitude at all; she was drawing inspiration from her own experiences in the dating world! "This is how I am and how a lot of girls are where the guy ends up being a little more sensitive and more invested," she said. "So the scene where I get high and then John [Cena's] character looks through my phone, and then instead of comforting him I ask if I can leave – that did happen in my real life."

But when it came time for Schumer and Bill Hader to film a sex scene, it was actually director Judd Apatow who became the most uncomfortable LOL.

"Judd was very embarrassed," Hader said. "He was very shy when we did the real sex scene on the couch. He was like, 'Okay, so today's the big day. Okay, you guys it's gonna be fun,' and everyone was looking at the ground."

If there's one topic that isn't awkward for Schumer, it's sex. When it came time to accept her Trailblazer award during the 2015 Glamour U.K. Women of the Year Ceremony, the Inside Amy Schumer star joked about how self-confident she is.

"I'm probably, like, 160 pounds right now and I can catch a dick whenever I want," she said. "Like, that's the truth. It's not a problem."

She added, "I'm not going to apologize for who I am, and I'm going to actually love the skin that I'm in. And I'm not going to be striving for some other version of myself."
