This Is Not a Drill: The Taco Emoji Is Finally Here!

Our nightmare is over because Unicode has added the taco emoji, along with 36 other updates including the hot dog emoji and the burrito emoji

Our long, national nightmare is over. After months and months and months of waiting, rumors, more waiting and several strongly-worded letters to the President of the United States, the taco emoji is finally, finally here. For real this time, we promise.

The Unicode Consortium has released 37 new emojis as part of its 8.0 update on Wednesday, and the number one most requested emoji is part of the update. Guys, let that thought sink in. The taco emoji will soon be part of your keyboard and you can spam the crap out of your friends. We don't know about you all, but we're going to be communicating with nothing but the taco emoji for the next 4 days. Sorry, loved ones!

But the good news does not stop there. The update also includes the burrito emoji, the hot dog emoji, a cheese wedge emoji and a face with rolling eyes. So now you can ask someone to bring you a taco and a burrito and if they give you lip you can send them the rolling eyes emoji. You won't even have to speak to another human anymore! The emojis will do the work for you.

Along with the new emojis, the update also includes five emoji modifiers, which is how you change the skin tone of your emoji people.
