Oh. My. Gaaaaawwwwwdddddd.

Paul McCartney almost guest starred on Friends. This is not a drill. Paul McCartney. From The Beatles. Almost guest starred. On Friends!

This is brand new information!

When the iconic sitcom's Emmy-nominated casting director Leslie Litt spoke to the Huffington Post, she revealed that she had tried extremely hard to get The Beatles musician to come on the show for a very specific role.

Remember the one with the wedding in London? You know, that disastrous ceremony where Ross (David Schwimmer) said his lobster Rachel's (Jennifer Aniston) name instead of his bride Emily's (Helen Baxendale) name?

Yeah, Litt wanted McCartney to play Ross' father-in-law in the two-part season four finale back in 1998.

Could that role be any more perfect?!

"I went through his manager and gave him all the details," Litt says. "One day, someone in the office brought me a faxed letter written to me by Paul himself! He thanked me for my interest and said how flattered he was, but it was a very busy time for him."

We're just going to go ahead and pretend like McCartney was able to play the role after all, because that's the greatest stunt casting we've ever heard. Don't agree with us? You could not be any more wrong. You could try, but you would not be successful.

But at this point, 11 years after the epic conclusion of our favorite TV show of all time, it's a moo point. It's like a cow's opinion; it doesn't matter. It's moo.
