Princess Charlotte's crying might be keeping dad up late at night, but that doesn't mean Prince William is too tired to perform his royal duties!

On Thursday, Kate Middleton's handsome hubby made his second post-baby public appearance at Buckingham Palace, where he presided over an investiture. As he presented actress Sheridan Smith with her Order of the British Empire (OBE), he revealed he's a fan of the BBC romantic sitcom Gavin & Stacey!

"He said he'd seen some of my work, which is amazing, and was a fan of Gavin & Stacey," said Smith, 33, according to multiple reports. James Corden was the star and driving force behind the beloved program, which aired 20 episodes between 2007 and 2010.

Smith was flattered, understandably! "And I congratulated him on his wonderful children and he shook my hand and I was shaking,' she recalled. "It's all a bit of a blur. It was a huge honour and I will absolutely treasure this, I can't quite believe it."

Other honorees Thursday included cricket bigwig David Collier and former soccer star (or football star, as the Brits would say) Brendon Batson. William is an avid fan of both sports and even serves as president of the English Football Association.

On Wednesday, in fact, he paid a visit to the National Football Centre at St. George's Park in Staffordshire to meet England women's World Cup squad before they head out to compete in the upcoming FIFA Women's World Cup Canada 2015. It was there that Head Coach Mark Sampson presented the William with a tiny team jersey to bring back home to baby Charlotte.

Ah, the perks of being a princess!
