Sofía Vergara and Joe Manganiello have revealed that they will be postponing their ideal summer wedding plans because the actor will be busy promoting Magic Mike XXL! Talking to Page Six at the Vanity Fair Oscars Party, the couple revealed that promoting the Channing Tatum-centered film, which hits theaters July 1, will take up a lot of time.
"We wanted to get married this summer, but Joe will be busy working and promoting Magic Mike 2," she said.
The Modern Family actress added, "We want to get married at a time when we can get away and make time for a honeymoon, so the wedding will probably be later this year."
E! News was the first to confirm that the couple became engaged when Manganiello proposed on Christmas Eve in Hawaii after only six months of dating the Colombian-born actress. A source told us at the time, "I've never seen two people so truly in love.
"The way they talk to each other, touch each other...It's incredible," the source added.
But both stars are eager to make things official sooner rather than later!
"I would love to get married this summer, but I'm going to be too busy promoting my male stripper movie!" he joked.
Vergara will be busy later this year, too, as her film Hot Pursuit with Reese Witherspoon is set for a May release. Now that their wedding has been pushed back, the couple will have time to finalize their guest list. Unsurprisingly, some of Vergara's co-stars are dying to get an invite!
"I wish," Ariel Winter told E! News at the 2015 SAG Awards when asked if she would help plan the nuptials. "If I was involved, I would be so excited. I'm just hoping to get an invite to the wedding. They are the most beautiful people on the planet."
And she continued, "Their babies are going to be so beautiful. It should be illegal...She is so wonderful and he's wonderful man. I'm really happy for both of them."
