Only one month after giving birth to daughter Brooklyn Elisabeth Lachey, Vanessa Lachey looks like she never even had a baby! But her trainer, Gregg Miele of Heart and Hustle Gym, spills to E! News exclusively that her "journey has really just begun."

Because it is recommended by OBGYNs that new moms wait six weeks before starting any physical exercise, Lachey has just started kicking up the intensity of her workouts, but Miele tells us that she was health conscious well before giving birth to their second child.

"The training was more structured and she was a lot more conscious of the quality of food she ate," he says.

So, what type of training is she doing inside the gym? The same as any of his other "athlete" clients!

"I train her like any one of our athletes here at our facility Heart & Hustle Gym, in Los Angeles," he says. "[The program is] head-to-toe, front-to-back and left-to-right training to teach the body how it was meant to move."

If you're wondering, husband Nick Lachey doesn't work out with her! But before jumping right in, Miele says he has to evaluate her every move.

"We assess her through basic movements patterns on day one and from there build a structured, progressive strength and conditioning program," he explains. "It's effective because it's a total body, athletic-based circuit consisting of all the components (strength, cardio and flexibility) necessary to initiate change."

Well, this certainly sounds terrifying! But Miele assures us, "It's challenging but not impossible, and its all done to great music and with high energy."

Whew!

He also says that Vanessa exercises 2-4 times per week depending on her schedule but "never" cancels or misses a session. Now that's some serious dedication. But like any person, Vanessa obviously has certain areas on which she prefers to concentrate.

"We address any areas of weakness and instability that she had after the pregnancy to help decrease the potential for injury," Miele explains. "We are stretching tight areas (postpartum pain areas) and strengthening the weak ones, but we definitely spotlight the core area and start to retrain that area to function properly again."

The most important part of her program, however, lies in her nutrition, which Miele explains was one of her "biggest" changes. He says that she combined shopping healthy and eating right, but adds that she used some food delivery services to "fill in the gaps." She would typically start her day with some nutrient-rich coconut water but would have smaller meals throughout the day to "sustain her energy" and help the "pregnancy brain fog."

To fuel up for their sessions together, Miele reveals that he, "literally soaked, sprouted and then dehydrated some almonds for her to snack on to give her energy."

"This process activates live enzymes inside the nut and enhances its nutritional value," he adds. "She would also enjoy a healthy granola bar as well."

During her workouts she would stick with Castle Rock water, but her post-workout nutrition might surprise you!

"She loved ending her workout with good ole' fashioned chocolate milk," he says. "It has an ideal carbohydrate-to-protein ratio post workout to aid in the recovery process. She also enjoyed a protein fruit smoothie as well"

The fitness guru does offer some sage advice to new moms everywhere, saying, "Prioritize an hour for yourself! This is not a recommendation but rather a prescription."

"You must become strong physically, mentally and emotionally for yourself, for your family and so you can perform better in the profession/path you have chosen," he adds. "In the words of Stephen Covey, 'The key is not to prioritize what's on your schedule, but to schedule your priorities.'"
