Kerry Washington is on a very important Oscars mission.

When she attends Sunday's 2015 ceremony, where she is set to present an award, the 38-year-old Scandal star is determined to be included in a celebrity selfie, if host Neil Patrick Harris follows in the footsteps of last year's host Ellen DeGeneres and snaps one during the show.

"This year, I'm determined not to miss the epic selfie moment if one appears," she said on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Thursday.

DeGeneres' selfie, which also included the likes of then-nominees Bradley CooperLupita Nyong'oMeryl Streep and Brad Pitt, as well as presenters Angelina JolieChanning Tatum and Kevin Spacey, was posted on Twitter soon after she took it at the 2015 ceremony and became the most retweeted photo in history, causing the social network to crash for several minutes.

Harris had said on The Ellen DeGeneres Show earlier this week that topping that moment marked his "biggest concern" about his Oscars hosting gig, joking that he sees the pic in his nightmares.

Also during the 2014 ceremony, DeGeneres had several pizzas delivered to the audience (see photos). Washington, who was pregnant with her baby daughter Isabelle at the time, was scarfing down a slice happily backstage when the selfie was taken.

""But listen, I was pregnant," she said. "So when you're pregnant and it's like, epic selfie or pizza, you go pizza."

"I was stuffing my face, in my gown," she added.

And speaking of star-studded events and epic moments, Washington recently took part in Saturday Night Live's 40th Anniversary Special, in which she took part in a sketch featuring the fan favorite characters The Californians, and got to witness one of the most memorable moments of the show—Cooper making out with Betty White (see it here...and note: You may not be able to unsee it...).

"I had front-row seats to that crazy make-out session," she said.

"How did that feel, being right there?" DeGeneres asked. "Did you feel dirty?"

"I did," Washington replied. "But I like feeling dirty. So it was fine."

The after party was just as epic as the special (check out photos, videos and details). Washington said the bash began at 12:30 a.m. and that she was asleep around 5 a.m.

"And I never…I am not that girl!" she said. "I don't party that way. So it was like, an exceptional evening. Because usually, I have work at Scandal at 5 a.m. and a child and a husband, but I was like alone in New York, partying, with no work the next day."

The party featured performances from PrinceTaylor Swiftthe B-52s and Sir Paul McCartney

"It started with Paul McCartney," Washington said. "When Paul McCartney is the opening act, you know it's gonna be an unbelievable evening. And they actually didn't ask anyone to perform—they just had all these instruments up on stage, ‘cause they knew all these phenomenal musicians would be there and they wouldn't be able to help themselves."

During her interview, Washington also talked to the talk show host about her "diva" dog Josie, who's an adorable and loud snorer.

Wanna laugh?! Turn the volume up. You'd think she spent all day cooking turkey!

DeGeneres had once given Washington a special gift for her dog. On Thursday's show, she gave the same one to her daughter, who is now about 10 months old, as well as an awesome bonus present that pays tribute to the actress' Scandal character. Watch the interview above to find out what they were.
