Is there any greater character on TV right now than Cookie Lyon?
The end of last night's episode found the Empire matriarch back in bed with Lucious (Terrence Howard), and as you can imagine, that's going to cause a few problems, particularly where Lucious' current fiancée, Anika, is concerned.
In this exclusive clip, writer and Empire co-creator Danny Strong gives us a little peek at the drama coming up next week as Lucious deals with the aftermath of cheating on Anika and Cookie (Taraji P. Henson) tries to bring her family back together with a little tribute album called "The Lucious Lyon Legacy," featuring performances from both Jamal and Hakeem. However, Hakeem's a little busy with his current ladyfriend Camilla (Naomi Campbell) who seems to have an agenda of her own.
"Camilla gets in his head to be more of a leader, more of a grown up," Strong says in the video. "I betcha in the back of her mind, she's thinking, if I could turn him into the king of Empire, perhaps I could be the queen of Empire."
Luckily, Cookie's there to put her in her place, and we get a little glimpse of her smackdown in the video above.
Plus, we get flashbacks to before Cookie had to leave her family to serve time in jail, and we can already tell that's going to be hard to watch, in terms of how hard we'll already be crying.
