Severus Snape might be one of the most misunderstood characters in all of literature. The poor guy cannnot catch a break. Even when he's doing a totally heroic deed that's going to help save all of mankind, he still comes out looking like the bad guy.

But this new video is going to change everything.

And yes, we meant for it to sound that dramatic. What we have here is a supercut of all of Snape's most groundbreaking scenes from the eight different Harry Potter flicks all rolled into one heartbreaking 14-minute reel. And it's guaranteed to make you cry.

YouTube user kcawesome13 decided to spread a little Snape awareness by editing the wizard's flashbacks, dream sequences, and important conversations into chronological order. Which means audiences are treated (if you can call something heartbreaking a treat) to each and every abuse, backstab or sacrifice that Snape endured throughout his tragic, misunderstood life.

Even Snape devotees will be surprised by the level of tragedy that's displayed here. We'll admitting to shedding more than a few tears, especially as we watch Snape mourn over the passing of Lily Potter and then vow to avenge her death. And don't even get us started on seeing the sacrifice he made for Dumbledore and Malfoy played out without the filter of Harry's judgment.

You heard it here first: Snape is a true Hogwarts hero.
