Bobbi Kristina Brown remains hospitalized, "fighting for her life," after being found unresponsive in a tub at her home Saturday.

Almost exactly three years prior to Bobbi Kristina's near-drowning incident, her mother Whitney Houston died in an eerily similar situation. Kevin Costner, who delivered a heartfelt eulogy at his Bodyguard co-star's funeral, told People magazine Monday at the AARP Movies for Grownups Awards that he "can't imagine" what their family is going through right now.

"I was sad, obviously," said the actor, 60, of hearing about Bobbi Kristina's condition. "That family's under a lot of stress right now, just an enormous about of stress."

The Black or White star admittedly hasn't spoken to 21-year-old Bobbi Kristina in "a little while," but he's wishing her his best, telling People solemnly, "I really hope she's okay."

Costner also hoped, in retrospect, that he could've done more to help Bobbi Kristina's mother. On Tuesday's CBS News, he reflected on the "unique window" he had with Whitney back when they were filming and promoting The Bodyguard, which came out in 1992.

"I was right there. I held her hand. And I wasn't able to hold her hand after that. And I watched her journey. I watched the spiral," he said. "There was two or three times when I was asked to write her letters, that maybe this would have a level of impact on her. I wrote those letters. I never heard back. I was told that she got them. But she went away."
