Robin Moraetes:
What was your very first job?
First Job after college was at ABC News/Primetime Live. I lasted a few months and then moved to LA to pursue a career in film.

How did you get started in your career?
I took a job as an assistant at Creative Artists Agency in Beverly Hills thinking I would stay for a year and then go work at a film studio. I ended up working there for 17 years in both the LA and NYC offices. I was truly blessed to be able to learn about so many other aspects of business as the company grew into other industries. It's important to continue to explore and grow no matter what your actual "job" is.

Who are some of your career heroes?
There are so many, but Diane Von Furstenberg is top of the list. She lives, breaths and sleeps her brand and has for many decades. She's created a global empire. You can spot her products a mile away. She's never wavered. Perhaps even more than apparel and accessories she sells confidence!

What's a typical workday like for you?
That's the beauty of this job— there is no typical work day!  Every day brings new and exciting moments. Usually I will work from home in the morning and then go to one of our NYC locations to finish the day. I like to spend a lot of time in the salons to interact with our amazing staff and clients. My days will literally range from high level board meetings to hanging out with clients talking about braids.

Describe your office décor. What was your inspiration? Did you decorate it yourself?
The decor is a little Jonathan Adler (literally) meets Kelly Wearstler with a sprinkling of Philippe Starck. My apartment in NYC has very similar decor. Rachel and I chose most of the decor together, and it was pretty easy since we both basically love the same things (and colors - black, white, gold, silver)

List five things that are on your desk right now:
Swarovski stapler, black/silver/gold sharpies, DreamDry notecards, Coffee, Chanel hand mirror.

What do you typically wear to work?
Winter: Black leggings, knee high boots, fur vest, black sweater/poncho/blazer.
Summer: Black dress and some kind of nude platform sandal (YSL Tribute is my go to summer shoe).

What are your favorite stores to shop for work clothes?
Helmut Lang - By far the best selection of all things black and leather leggings galore!

What's the best piece of career advice you've ever received?
"Find a job you love and you'll never work a day in your life,"— my Mom.
