How does a star choose a beauty look for a red carpet event? Chances are they rely on a devoted beauty team who works together for one common goal—that their client loves their look.

One such instance was with Taylor Schilling's classic yet modern look at the 2015 Golden Globes. We asked E! Style Collective member and Taylor's makeup artist Tina Turnbow, who also works with clients including Keri Russell, Patricia Arquette and Marisa Tomei to give us a peek into what it takes to get a celebrity red carpet ready.

Here's Tina:

The thing about Taylor is she never ceases to amaze me with her spirit, beauty and incredible talent. I'm constantly inspired and always reminded how much I love what I do when I work with her.

The day of the 2015 Golden Globes was no exception.

Ryan Trygstad, her hairstylist, and I have had the pleasure of working with Taylor since 2009, when she starred in Mercy.

Though we've gone stretches of time without seeing one another, the very loyal and supportive Taylor continues to call upon us. For events such as the Golden Globes, it's always a wonderful feeling to be by each other's side.

I spoke to Ryan about what he thinks is most essential to making our team click.

"It's a super-collaborative effort," Ryan said. "We come together as a team on all fronts. Because I am so familiar with her hair, I know what styles and textures will work best. Taylor is always open to trying new ideas. The benefit comes in the fact that we've been working together so long. We have a great trust and comfort level."

Ryan goes on to explain our obsession with collecting photos!

"We are all very visual beings," he added. "So we like to collect photos of different inspirational beauty images and style references. We are constantly perusing Pinterest! This way we can pull up a picture, check it and decide right away: yes or no."

When the nominations were announced for the Globes, we were thrilled Taylor would be able to attend. She was in the midst of intense rehearsals for the play she is currently starring in alongside Peter Dinklage called A Month in the Country

She was able to fly in to LA that morning and out the next.

We had seen a picture of the gorgeous Ralph Lauren gown. It had our imaginations running wild with visions of hair and makeup ideas.

The morning of the Globes, she had a fitting with her stylist, Penny Lovell. Taylor then had a hotel house call from her hair colorist, Kari Hill. She lightened and brightened her hair, which added to the modern Grace Kelly look. The lighter color also created more of a contrast with the stronger brow I did. So thank you, Kari!

Once we all got to her room, we gathered around for a beauty pow-wow. We came away with a direction that felt fresh, classic and sexy. Though Ryan has pulled back Taylor's hair in a knot before, and I have given her a bright lip, we were determined to make it feel new.

First and foremost, we wanted Taylor to feel amazing. And for her, it is always important to still feel like herself.

Taylor looked in the mirror and said she loved it.

Mission accomplished!

Taylor's slicked-back hair and knotted bun flattered the soft makeup and bold lip. Both the hair and makeup blended effortlessly with her Ralph Lauren dress and Salvatore Ferragamo shoes and clutch. The look, created by Tina, Ryan, Penny and manicurist Michelle Saunders, was one of the most talked about of the night.
