What a transformation!

Duchess Sarah Ferguson, better known as "Fergie" across the pond (and not to be confused with our own Fergie-Ferg), has stepped out with an incredibly svelte figure in recent weeks. The royal, who battled weight issues for years and also served as a longtime Weight Watchers brand ambassador, took new steps toward living a more wholesome lifestyle and maintaining a healthy figure. And in the process, she dropped more than 50 pounds.

What's more astonishing: The Duchess of York lost the weight in just five months.

"I used to be so angry," Ferguson told Hello magazine of her weight fluctuations. "I believed I was never going to lose the weight, that I had lost control. I couldn't fit into any of my clothes. I was just drowning in eating, drowning in food."

For years, the royal had to endure public criticism regarding her body size (some publications stooped so low as to call her the "Duchess of Pork" and "Fat Frumpy Fergie"). But with a sugar-free diet, realistic exercise regimen and persistence in regard to her health goals, Ferguson managed to take off the pounds. (A health retreat at a luxe Swiss ski resort in Verbier also lent to her transformation.)

The results? At 54, the duchess is looking (and feeling) better than ever. Hello's interview also revealed that Fergie will now serve as an ambassador for the Institute of Global Health Innovation at Imperial College London.

And with a body renewal like that, we'll be taking notes.
