Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban didn't waste any time when it came to tying the knot.

The two lovebirds, who have been married for eight years now, decided to get hitched after dating for less than a month (!), and while that may seem absolutely bonkers to some people, it didn't seem that way for the actress.

Kidman graces the cover of Elle magazine's January issue, and the Paddington Bear star admits that the move was risky and definitely out of the ordinary, but perfect for her. "I'm spontaneous. I jump in. I kind of like getting married and then getting to know each other; I know that it sounds incredibly strange, but to me, it's a more natural process."

However, "spontaneous" isn't exactly a word that comes to mind when the public thinks of Nicole Kidman, but her close gal-pal Sheryl Crow weighs in on how sometimes Kidman's public perception can be misunderstood.

"I think that she has been very poised throughout her public life, and sometimes people will misconstrue that; they see her as being an ice queen," the singer said.

"The kind of scrutiny she's been subjected to can't be comfortable, and she's dealt with it by being very careful—that's what gives people the wrong idea. She's not someone we're going to see out paddle-boarding in a G-string; she doesn't set up situations where she's playing to the paparazzi. She's more old-school than that. She's not that kind of movie star."

You can find more of Kidman's Elle interview on the magazine's website or you can pick up an issue on newsstands nationwide on December 16.
